"Move to Album" default album should not be original item "source album". I think it would make user life a lot better if the default album could be the last album selected on that "Move to Album" dialog. Example of use: User import camera files with thousands of media. My expected action is to move files to albuns with similar content, like "Family pictures", "Work Pictures", "Trips", or something like that. Since original album content has a long timeline of mixed subjects, I try to optimize moving files by selecting lots of images and moving to "family pictures" for example. Then I browse next group of files of family pictures and when I "move to album again", I have to browse thru lots of albuns to find and select that "Family Pictures" album again.
In earlier versions the last album selected on that "Move to Album" dialog was set as default. Unfortunately that changed recently. Why? I would also like to have it work as before. Or make it an option to change in the settings.
You must be remembering that incorrectly. The current album has always been the one selected in that dialog. The dialog only remembers the previous selection in the Import Tool - and even then, only if no physical album is currently selected (was a bug request to always select the currently active album for imports). However, this feature never existed in the main digiKam application; I have checked the code history. Maik
