Description hineshawks.27 2019-06-04 22:59:46 UTC
I am have Been using Krita for a few months, and I really like it, but, I don't think I have all the brushes. I went to the Krita manual to do fur texture, and I couldn't find the ink_brush_25 brush, and then I went to another one on the krita manual, and I couldn't find the smudge_soft brush. It might be my computer, and there might not be anything you can do, but if you know anyway to help me I would be very grateful.

Probably because those brushes are part of krita 3.x series default brushes. Those are included by default but AFAIK not activated.

Go to: Settings > Manage Resources
In the window it opens you can activate or deactivate bundles. If Krita 3 default resources is under inactive Bundles (which is probably true), select it and press the arrow pointing left to activate it. (The arrow is inbetween the active and inactive panels). Press Ok. if the brushes are not loaded after that, just restart Krita. The brushes should be active now.

Precisely! those presets are not activated by default since they were part of the default presets for 3.x series. Kirta 4.x uses new presets to work better with how the program is evolving, however, some people love 3.x presets so we keep them around but not in an active form. All krita 4.x presets names are prefixed by a letter and a closing parenthesis: like "a)" or "d)"

The manual is never writen from scratch for every version, we probably missed updating that part to use Krita 4.x default presets.
