Description edA-qa mort-ora-y 2018-04-15 10:04:13 UTC
Multiple copies of the same file are opened when I open them via search results. It appears to happen all the time now, though it never used to -- some update early this year, or late last year perhaps.

1. Open a file.
2. Search for something that includes that file
3. Double-click to open file
4. Second copy opens
5. Double-click other result in file
6. Third copy opens

The copies are not linked, but independent versions -- changes in one do not update the other.

I remember applying a fix for this about a year ago or so. The problem was that Kate and the KTextEditor-component handled URLs a bit different. The problem at the time was soft-linked files that opened up the link or the resolved file, while the component opened the other.

This should be fixed in newer versions of Kate. Please try a newer version of Kate. If you still get the same problem with the newest version please reopen.

I'm not able to reproduce it with latest version at least.
