Description peter josvai 2018-04-10 12:52:52 UTC
in premiere pro, and sony vegas, too, there "was" a functionality
to find missing clips intelligently...
and kdenlive should have something like that, too...

imagine renaming your hard drive for some reason...
from mnt/xxyy to media/xxyy ... to take a simple example...

this will result in ALL your clips go missing..
it would be so cool to have to change only ONE clip's path and the rest would be done automatically...

for example... if there are more than 1 clips missing...
and one clip's new path is being entered...
it could be checked if an analogous change could be implemented to the other files paths, too....

like
old path: HDD/project_dir/footage-1/myfile-1.mp4
new path: HDD/NEW-project_dir/footage-1/myfile-1.mp4

in this case a check could be done.. whether myfile-2 could be found
if the project directory were changed the same way...

- - - -
ANOTHER good thing could be if changing the PATH could be done by
typing -- without actually BROWSING for the new location...
BUT this would net be necessary once a "smart find" or "smart search" for missing clips is available...

thank you

Peter

I just tried "search recursively" -- I have a small project now, and it found all missing clips..
