Advised in #plasma to file a bug, after reporting a problem that I and another Kubuntu user are seeing. The Imgur link is hir image. User reports: when I open the lid and restart the computer I discover that (many) *rando* widgets have been added to the desktop and panel. What widgets were there are also often shuffled around. Many random windows of random apps are opened up. Here is a screenshot of what I see (and this is not the worst I have seen it by far) http://i.imgur.com/. See on the pannel how 3 copies of a dolphin widget were added to the left hand side. I didn't put those there. Those were just added seemingly randomly by the computer itself while the lid was down. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. restart the computer 2. see triple copies of various applications, which were not in use when the session was closed 3. Actual Results: Triple copies of various applications, which were not in use when the session was closed Expected Results: For me, this has happened for only the past couple of days, indicating that a recent update triggered it apt-cache policy kate kate: Installed: 4:15.12.1-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa1 Candidate: 4:15.12.1-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa1 Version table: *** 4:15.12.1-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa1 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 4:15.08.3-0ubuntu0.1~ubuntu15.10~ppa1 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages 4:15.08.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe amd64 Packages apt-cache policy plasma-framework plasma-framework: Installed: 5.18.0-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa2 Candidate: 5.18.0-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa2 Version table: *** 5.18.0-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa2 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 5.15.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe amd64 Packages
