Description Svyatoslav 2015-04-28 15:32:10 UTC
Hi,

I can't add custom icon to custom application entries in kmenuedit (called from KDE menu widget or manually), when I clicking on "Other icons" and click button "Browse" nothing happened. It's latest stable KDE Frameworks version shipped with Kubuntu 15.04

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open kmenuedit (or click Menu editor entry in KDE Menu widget context menu)
2. Create application entry
3. Select an icon from Other icons and click on Browse button at the right top of the screen.

Actual Results:
Nothing expected happened, I can't open file dialog to select custom icon as in previous Frameworks release or KDE 4

Expected Results:
It should allow me to choose custom icon

Don't know or can't find any workarounds to break this, only manual edit of .desktop file solves problem.

Version of libraries used by kmenuedit is Frameworks — 5.9.0

There are several duplicates:

- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346571
- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346723
- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346849

The https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346316 has:

"Bug is not about in kmenuedit. Problem is in frameworkintegration package.I fixed this problem with install new package frameworkintegration_5.9.0+git20150418.1058+15.04-0ubuntu0_amd64.deb It works with kmenuedit v5.2.2 and also git kmenuedit v5.3.90"

By the name - frameworkintegration_5.9.0+git20150418.1058+15.04-0ubuntu0 - It is a Kubuntu CI package.

Kubuntu/CI: https://community.kde.org/Kubuntu/CI
Kubuntu Continuous Integration (CI): https://community.kde.org/Kubuntu/PPAs#Kubuntu_Continuous_Integration_.28CI.29

Note ! I'm not the original bug reporter of the bug 346316 but with the VirtualBox installation of the Kubuntu 15.04 + Kubuntu CI the KDE Menuedit is working.

Another note ! ;) Note the warnings of the Kubuntu CI.
