After seeing this G+ post: https://plus.google.com/103063697074786093032/posts/PJhPtdxMfDX I tested, and indeed there is no longer a right-click menu on the desktop. Krunner starts just fine, but is unresponsive to user input, bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346190 It seems that search in Kicker is not working either - I can enter a packagename, but no result.
I can confirm.
I can confirm this as well, on two systems.
I can confirm
Confirming that right click menus on the desktop and panels do not work. Additionally, search in applications menu and top bar doesn't work either.

To me it sounds like distribution/packaging problem. org.kde.plasma.desktop/contents/defaults correctly lists the context menu RightButton;NoModifier=org.kde.contextmenu but somehow plasmashell config doesn't list it.

Confirmed for KDE Frameworks 5.9.0 & KDE Plasma 5.2.2 on Kubuntu 15.04
I can confirm as well
This is caused by Ubuntu's QA being a bit broken and only allowing some frameworks 5.9 packages into the archive. If you manually add vivid-proposed and upgrade it will install the rest and this bug goes away. So this is an incompatibility between versions of kf5. The frameworks held back currently are kbookmarks kcmutils kio knewstuff kparts ktexteditor plasma-framework. Most likely plasma-frameworks is to blame. I'll keep this bug open as I guess it shouldn't cause problems to have plasma-framework 5.8 with the other frameworks at 5.9 but it's low priority and I doubt anyone will get to it so feel free to close.

Manualy added : deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid-proposed main restricted multiverse universe ... the bug is gone. Thanks
(In reply to CP/M 64 from comment #12) > Manualy added : > deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid-proposed main restricted > multiverse universe > > ... the bug is gone. Thanks This also fixed my issue. I also had to re-enter the desktop mouse actions as they were missing. -jason
>I'll keep this bug open as I guess it shouldn't cause problems to have plasma-framework 5.8 with the other frameworks at 5.9 This is a completely unsupported combo.
Fixed today after running updates.
