I have not those issues with my Nexus 4 (Kitkat 4.4.4) and Kde 4.13. Kde connect updated versions on android (0.7.1) and opensuse13.1x64 (0.7-1.1).
(In reply to comment #5) > I have not those issues with my Nexus 4 (Kitkat 4.4.4) and Kde 4.13. > Kde connect updated versions on android (0.7.1) and opensuse13.1x64 > (0.7-1.1). i am afraid there is a compliancy pb with android 4.2.2 more info : - opensuse 13.1 x86_64 , kde 4.13.2 , kdeconnect 0.7-1.1 - android 4.2.2 , kdeconnect 0.7
Just to add some info: Slimkat 4.4.4 with root access.
today there is an update for android kde connect : 0.7 to 0.7.1 - send files from pc no more pb - send files from smartphone i sent 5 epub files only the first one is well transfered the other 4 files are transfered but incomplete note : for android version it would be handy if in kde connect settings we can choose where to transfered the files when receiving from pc
i have 0.7.1also in kde . pb still there - send files from smartphone i send 5 epub files only the first one is well transferred the other 4 files are transferred but incomplete
opensuse 13.1 , kde 4.13.3 kdeconnect 0.7.1 android 4.2.2 (samsung s2 plus) android kdeconnect 4.2.2 kdeconnect-kde 0.7.2 pb still there . any news , any plan ? thanks
The ideal solution for this would be to rely on a file transfer library instead of writing it ourselves (because there are lots of border cases: when some packet is not received correctly, connection drops, when the file size is not known beforehand, etc), but I still don't know of one we can use in both Qt and Java.
Can you please update your kdeconnect in PC from 0.7.1 to 0.7.2?
Tested on my Debian (testing) with PC version 0.7.2 and Android verion 0.7.2. The same error still occures with any kind of transfered files form Android to PC. In the KDE notification tool shows an active download with 0 B/s.
@Philippe Can you please test with another cellphone, in another version (4.4.4 for example)? I am using 4.1.2 version in my Samsung S3 Mini without problem. Tested PC to Cellphone and Cellphone to PC.

M experimented same pb . no ? but it does not indicate what model of smartphone and what version of android .
@M what model of smartphone ? what version of android ? thanks
(In reply to Philippe ROUBACH from comment #16) > @M > > what model of smartphone ? Samsung Galaxy SIII mini > what version of android ? 4.1.2 > > thanks thanks :)
so you say in a comment you have same pb and in another comment you have no pb then i don't understand
Sorry about that possible mistake. It works here, with this environment: Samsung Galaxy SIII mini Android : 4.1.2 KDEConnect 0.7.2 in both devices
i have nnot another smartphone to experiment . i use primitive ftpd https://f-droid.org/wiki/page/org.primftpd i sent (wifi) many files (photo or pdf for example) at the same times from pc to smartphone without any pb .
(In reply to Philippe ROUBACH from comment #16) > @M > > what model of smartphone ? Samsung Galaxy S5 > what version of android ? 4.4.2 > > thanks By the way: does kdeconnect rely on google in any way or any google tool which has to run 24/7?

No, it doesn't use anything from Google, so it can run on Android devices that do not have anything from Google. Why?
I have the same problem using fairphone with android 4.2.2 and kdeconnect 7.3. When I send photo's in a batch, i.e. more than one from phone to pc, many are corrupted and I receive notifications of this in kde. Also some video's are corrupt, even if I send only one. Problem is that sometimes only a few bytes are missing and then photo's seem ok, until you try to convert them with tools like imagemagick. Same with video, one particular video was missing first seconds, was playable but missed sound on the pc because of this.
I experience this problem as well. I just tried again: sending a 34Mb audio file from smartphone to pc, I ended up with a 21Mb audio file on the pc Smartphone: Samgsung Galaxy S5 - freshly updated to android lollipop (5.0). The problem already existed on KitKat as well though. - KdeConnect 0.7.3.6 PC: - Fedora 20, 64-bit - KdeConnect 0.7.3 I love KdeConnect, but I won't use it for file transfers again until this issue is solved :( Still using it for notifications though.
(In reply to Geert Janssens from comment #24) > I love KdeConnect, but I won't use it for file transfers again until this > issue is solved :( > Still using it for notifications though. you can transfer photos with kde connect . click on the kdeconnect icon then click on the directory icon at the upper right corner this launch dolphin then you can copy/past what you want from or to smarphone from or to pc

Hi, september 23, 2015. This issue still not resolved. I try to transfer HD 1080p Video from SGH-I337m (Galaxy S4) with official samsung lollipop OS...to laptop and I get a corrupted video file always. Not SD card access problem. Using Kubuntu 15.04 with plasma 5.

I noticed version 0.9g got released recently, which triggered me to try again. Current versions in use are: PC: - Fedora 22 - kdeconnect 0.9g Smartphone - kdeconnect 0.9e With these versions I haven't been able to reproduce this bug. All videos I sent directly from the gallery using kdeconnect were properly transferred.
I havent seen this for a while, currently running kdeconnect 0.9, plasma desktop 5.5.2 and kde apps 15.12.
Hi all Sorry, but it is still happening for me (today with an epub file from phone to computer) with the following: - KDE Connect 0.9g from F-Droid - Android 4.2.2 on a Fairphone 1 - KDE 4.13.3 on KXStudio 14.04
... however, I just realised that, on my computer, I have kdeconnect 0.8-0ppa3+pkg7~ubuntu14.04.1 from the following ppa: https://code.launchpad.net/~vikoadi/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/ Therefore, I can't say how 0.9 behaves.
I'm facing this very issue with kdeconnect-0.9g, CM12 and KDE Frameworks 5. The transfer of pictures I sent from my phone to pc (or viceversa) never ends (sometimes a transfer of a picture actually end, but neither the pc or the phone "notice" that).

I have a HTC ONE M9 android 6. Kdeconnect 0.9.g-3 arch linux packe. I sent a photo of 192KB , on the phone it appeared at 28 KB. Same happens with videos, and not just on one desktop on my other one as well. Seems after going to plasma 5.6+ that I have been getting this error
Unsubscribing CC user per abuse report.
I have the same issue with kdeconnect-9999 (built from kdeconnect-kde.git master branch a few minutes ago) on Gentoo with Plasma 5.6.5. Photos are only transferred partially from time to time (with the file remaining to be named .part) and/or kdeconnect crashes upon file transfer.
Oh, running kdeconnect-android 1.3.2.
The issue persists with kdeconnect-android-1.4.1 and kdeconnect-kde-1.0.
The Issue is still persiting. I did a little test with two computers using kdeconnect, the file was sent over fully, however a .part was added to the file name, but once removed I could open it normally. Seems to indicate the bug lies in the android app side on the download.
Hmm, seems that this commit might fix it: https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kdeconnect-kde.git&a=commit&h=77ad9336b685c57a334d31bf7d92cd6185b8cfb1 I'm gonna try...
With the latest git version, kdeconnect no more crashes when sending photos, BUT when sending multiple photos, only the first gets transferred at all.
Created attachment 103266 [details] partial image transfer from phone to PC I've been seeing this. The phone that sent the picture is Samsung S7 Edge SM-G935T with kdeconnect version showing as 1.3.3. Connection is over wifi from phone to router in the same room, from router over ethernet to PC. PC is running: [rolf@p8z68 ~]$ cat /etc/release Mageia release 5 (Official) for x86_64 [rolf@p8z68 ~]$ rpm -qa | grep kdeconnect lib64kdeconnectcore1-0.8-1.mga5 kdeconnect-kde-0.8-1.mga5 lib64kdeconnectinterfaces1-0.8-1.mga5 KDE Platform Version 4.14.19 The attached photo was sent as a single transfer from the Share menu in "Viber Pictures" part of Gallery .
sending from: android kde connect 1.5 android 4.2.2 sending to: kxstudio 14.04 kdeconnect 0.8-0ppa3+pkg7~ubuntu14.04.1 This still happens to me. I just tested it, sending photos from the phone gallery to the computer via KDE Connect. Out of 58 attempts, 12 completed fine; the other 46 were missing a variable bottom section of the picture (replaced by a grey area). Some pictures transferred fine from the first attempt, others needed about 12 attempts before sending the complete file. Happy to provide more information if it can help.
(In reply to Stéphane Guillou from comment #45) > sending to: > kdeconnect 0.8-0ppa3+pkg7~ubuntu14.04.1 It would be nice to know if it still happens with the latest KDE Connect (1.0.3) as of now. 0.8 is really old.
File transfers have been largely improved lately. Please try with latest kio and kdeconnect-kde.
This problem stills happens on KDE Connect version 1.4-1. I'm using Arch Linux. I don't know how to upgrade to latest version KDE Connect.
