I don't like the switch tab on hover setting and after I upgraded to Kubuntu 13.10 I noticed that the behavior had changed back to switch tab on hover. I disabled that setting but the next time I logged in, it was back to switch on hover. The kickoff settings don't seem to be being saved. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the kickoff widget settings 2. Change a setting (ex disable switch tab on hover) 3. Log out and back in Actual Results: The setting gets reset to the default after logging in Expected Results: The settings should be remembered between sessions
I confirm this bug. Particularity it does not save the "hover" setting, it reverts to default (yes) after a reboot.
My system: KDE 4.11.3 x86_64 OS: Arch Linux x86_64
I'm using KDE (4.11.4 at the time of this writing) on Arch Linux x86_64. When I disable the "Switch tabs on hover" option, it is always checked again after a reboot. I don't know which version introduced this problem but it's been there for a while now.
Still happening on Linux Mint with 4.12.2. Curiously, sometimes the setting is remembered but at least one out of two times I log in it's forgotten. The bug seems to be specific to the "Switch tabs on hover" setting, as other changes remain.
I can confirm this bug using KDE 4.12.3 on Kubuntu 12.04.
I thought it had been fixed. It hasn't happened to me for weeks now (4.12.3 on Mint).
I've had it go various durations of time without re-enabling "switch tabs on hover". After the upgrade to 4.12.3, I thought it was fixed as well, until it started happening again two weeks ago. It seems something must be triggering that option to get re-enabled, but what?
It's definitely a sporadic issue. It will seem like the setting stays for a while then all of a sudden it changes back.
kubuntu 14.04 kde 4.13.0 laucher setting for switch tabs on hover: un-checking this option does not become permanent After reboot it defaults to checked. Although not a major issue it is annoying and as it's an option it would be nice for it to work.
I've been experiencing this too, and am still seeing it on Debian Testing/Jessie. In my case, I get the feeling that it is (usually) triggered after an `aptitude upgrade` of some particular package on my system, and then manifests after the next reboot.
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug has already been resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
