Description Martin Koller 2013-01-26 23:42:24 UTC
I have a bottom panel and a vertical lock/logout/suspend widget in it. clicking on suspend-to-ram brings up a kind of dialog which is nearly unusable as the Yes/No buttons are hidden behind the panel.
Screenshot attached.

Reproducible: Always

IMHO the dialog is not shown below the panel, but instead the dialog is just too small. Cf. the attached screenshot captured with a panel placed at the left screen edge under KDE 4.10.0

@Thilo-Alexander Ginkel. I just reported this bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314814 ) but didn't find this particular bug report because the description is incorrect.

I agree that the buttons are being clipped because the prompt window is too small vertically. It doesn't matter if the "Lock/Logout" widget is on a panel or not. If you place the widget on the desktop the problem with the prompt dialog is exactly the same.

Unfortunately this bug is present in 4.10.0 :(

Updating component (as I think this affects the QueryDialog QML component rather than being specific to the Lock/Logout widget) and affected KDE version.

From the duplicate bug report:
"Seems to be a problem in the new Air theme. I just deleted /usr/share/apps/desktopthemes/default and placed there the "default" theme from a 4.9.5 installation, which fixed those size issues. QueryDialog does some calculations based on "theme.defaultFont" - no idea where that comes from. Also realised that with the new Air-theme that dialog is "too wide" (just some pixels) an get's resized to a certain smaller width. That wraps the label around which makes it higher pushing the buttons down. After the View inside the dialog get's resized the whole button should get adjusted, too - but it doesn't."

"It just indirectly depends on the theme (margins, (size of) shadows etc.), issue happens with every theme. The problem only happens with plasmoids on the desktop, not the panel. Furthermore the plasmoid must be lower then the minimum height of the Dialog - this issue should be visible with every plasmoid popping up a Plasma::Dialog."

I have the same issue with an update arch distro (KDE version 4.10.3).
Firstly the panel does not appear at the centre of the screen (and I've nop idea how to move it to the center).
Moreover the yes/no buttons are mostly covered as in the screenshot.
I use the oxygen theme.
Comment 9 Xwang 2013-06-09 08:57:03 UTC
The issue is still present in 4.10.4
Comment 10 Thilo-Alexander Ginkel 2013-06-29 08:57:50 UTC
This is still an issue in KDE 4.10.80.
Comment 11 Anthony Vital 2013-08-20 10:16:20 UTC
It seems fixed in 4.11.
Comment 12 Xwang 2013-08-20 10:50:30 UTC
In my arch linux system the issue seems resolved with the 4.11 version.
Thank you!

Thanks for the update, closing.
