At Kubuntu we throw a set of additional widgets in the netbook panel which highlights a curious interpretation of unified icon size and placement. Please take a look at the attached screenshot... The icons for SAL and the pages are properly aligned with the names and appear to be of the same size as the text, so far so good. Moving on the systray where icons suddenly are about 25% bigger and appear weirdly displaced to the bottom (note that this is without desktop effects, so it may look 'better' with desktop effects). The lock/shutdown and window list icons then go all out and consume just about the entire panel height. Also what I just noticed the border around the pages also seems aligned to the bottom rather than the center. Again, this is without desktop effects, so it may look "better" (a.k.a visually less fucked up with those on). However seeing as netbooks tend to have weak cpus with onboard graphics I'd rather not strain the poor machine with things that are not exactly necessary. Reproducible: Always
