Description Andreas K. Huettel 2012-05-25 20:51:38 UTC
This is a clone of https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406831

"Whenever you use the Print Assistant wizard, you need to specify "Inches" under "Page Settings" before proceeding to select a page layout. If you do not, you cannot select the 3.5 x 5" layout. This needs to be specified every time, including if you press "Back" from the page layout selection.

This is despite the "Imperial System" being selected under Other in the Country/Region & Language menu of the KDE System Settings. This is a fairly old bug that has been around since at least 1.x, although I am only reporting it now."

Page setup it's a very hard problem to be stored, expecially if you have a HP printer. A lot of page layout
are simply "custom" and custom is just the same value for any of them, so it's not really restored.
Anyway i changed a bit print assistant layout in last digikam after the code sprint, may be can you test last digikam if it's better?
In the mean while i will take a look if and why it does not save the unit settings.

I haven't gotten around to package 4.10 yet. Will get back to you in a few days.

Hmm, I can't get the inch sizes to appear at all, it's all cm.

That said, my system is all metric normally, and I'm not sure if I have applied all the right switches to go to weird imperial stuff.

I closed our Gentoo bug long ago as "needinfo" since I never got any feedback there. I'd suggest we do the same here (just reopen if you disagree).
