Description Jean Luc 2012-01-28 20:32:50 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.4)
OS: Linux

Oddly this only happens with one contact (at least i only know of this one)
btw: its an ICQ-contact
the complete conversation gets messed up
messages sometimes come way to late ... things get mixed up
it doesnt even make a difference if he is using trillian or the original icq-client

as soon as i switch back to kopete everything is fine again
also i can communicate with other contacts using icq-client fine on kde-telepathy

is there a way i could come up with some more informations for you?
cause i defenitly have no clue where things get messed up

greetings

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
just normal chatting

Actual Results:
a huge misunderstanding :D

Expected Results:
every message delivered when send and in the right order

Can you please provide version of your telepathy-haze package?

Also please follow steps here: http://martys.typepad.com/blog/2011/12/kde-telepathy-now-depends-on-telepathy-qt4-09-also-how-to-report-bugs.html

...and attach the log here. Thanks.

Do you guys have any chance of trying this with Empathy? If so, please do test and post back, thanks.

Empathy works just fine.

Also my talkmates say that their IM client says that I'm typing a message for about a minute before sending. I mean my messages are transfered very slowly to my talkmates.

And actually the message log is synchronous on my and their side. This (probably) means that telepathy is suffering of slow message posting via ICQ and XMPP.

BTW, the bug appears more often when my talkmate uses pidgin IM.

The only difference between Empathy and KTp is pretty much Telepathy-Qt, the library we're using for all the network traffic.

George, Dario, do you think you could investigate?

Talkmate chat log from pidgin

Please compare those two screenshots. Also talkmates say that they see my status as 'Typing' for a very long time before the message arrives.

I have confirmed too, that the reason of messed up conversations is a delay of message delivery on my side. Messages from my talkmates come in at the same time they are send (comparison of chat logs show this), but my messages appear on the other side about 1-5minutes later than I send them.
