Description tbutler 2001-07-06 18:51:12 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konqueror
Version: 3.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 beta1)
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.0-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

While this certainly isn't anything urgent or important I had an idea while contemplating all the different things IO Slaves could be used for.

What about a slave that acted as a front end to the whois command converting the output to a nice HTML page to be shown in Konqi?

For instance I could type whois://uninetsolutions.com and it would run % whois uninetsolutions.com and return the formatted results. Perhaps it could also support something like this:

whois://uninetsolutions.com@whoisserver for telling whois to use a particular whois server.

Just a thought...

Seems unlikely, sorry.
