Description Volker Christian 2011-09-24 08:21:55 UTC
Version: GIT (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

Today i have realized, that some of my events (not all) are duplicated some are triplicated in korganizer but, thankfully, not in the google-calendar.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
I don't know what i have done to produce this bug. I just have used the calendar-resource in the usual way.

Actual Results:
Events get duplicated/triplicated/...

Expected Results:
Events should not be duplicated/triplicated/...

Thank you for the report. I have fixed the calendar resource to fetch events incrementally. Feel free to reopen or file a new bug if events would duplicate again.

Fixed in git commit 496dfdb8f7035150d2eac8b1c304c32d45f07529.

Thank you very much! I will give it a try and report if this bug is still there.

Unfortunately, I just have again found doublicated/tripplicated/... events in korganizer. In google-calender only one event is shown!
I am using the resources on my laptop and i suspend and resume it very often. Is it possible that the reason for this is an interception of a running synchronization? I would like to point out, that not all events are dublicated/tripplicated/... Some show up in korganizer 7 times, other 2 times, some just (correct) 1 times ... hm ... how can i help to debug, as i am very interested in an working google-synchronization!

Hi,
the resource is supposed to requests only items that changed since last synchronization and change only those.

I don't see any possibility how the events could get duplicated other then that either the resource is sending incorrect "modified-since" date or that Google has some issues.

Is there anything common for all the events that got duplicated? For example, are the most duplicated events the newest (latest created) or oldest, or anything like that? Thanks

Hi,

there is no apparent "pattern" for events which gets duplicated. At the moment i have some events which show up in korganizer more than six times ... hm. A complete fresh sync initiated by deleting the whole akonade database on my local machine, fixes this problem for some time! Though, after a view suspend/resume or hand-triggered synchronizations i again have multiple entries for some events.
I want to point out, that i often switch between different wlan-networks during a suspend/resume-cycle. Also i am using debian with kde 4.6.5. Maybe this helps traking down this bug.

Nevertheless, thank you very much for your great effort in developing this resource! Keep on going - it will sure be nearly bugfree in the near future! Thought, at the moment, the resource is not realy usable for daily work.

Regards
Volker

Could you please update to latest git and keep an eye on this issue? I think that fix of bug #282509 _could_ have also solved this issue.

I tried to set modified-since date back to 2008 and then refresh my calendar and Akonadi seems to correctly update (overwrite) existing events instead of creating duplicates.
Comment 8 Volker Christian 2011-10-01 06:32:57 UTC
It seems, the fix for Bug 282509 really fixes Bug 282659 also! I will keep on using the resource and if i didn't get any doublicated events in the next days, Bug 282659 should also be marked as "fixed"! I'll report about my experience!
Comment 9 Volker Christian 2011-10-02 06:58:02 UTC
I haven't had problems with doublicated events anymore! Greate! I think this bug report can now be closed!

Nice, thank you!
