When I browse eg. Roundcube webmail with rekonq, I often experience 2-3 seconds lasting hangs (for all the rekonq windows' UIs), after which I can continue. It also happens on eg. Netvibes.com.

I can confirm that (same version). And typing in the address bar also hangs a few seconds every 3-5 letters.

Same her with KDE 4.7.3 and rekonq 0.8. But I'm not sure wheater it is restricted to ajax sites. Happens often that the whole rekonq UI is freezing for some secs.

I experience the same behaviour (not the freeze while typing in the address bar though) in my version; happens about once every 2-5 minutes. 

rekonq 0.8.0 in
KDE 4.7.3 in
kubuntu 11.10
