Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.85) OS: Linux From KDE 4.6 Beta2 I'm not able to start application from panel/desktop by click/doubleclick on icon. Icon react on right click, tooltip is shown. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) Right click on selected an application in kickoff and choose "Add to Panel" or "Add to Desktop" 2) Try to start application by clicking on icon in panel/desktop Actual Results: Nothing happen Expected Results: Application is started. There is nothing in .xession-errors file.
I can confirm on Beta2 compiled from sources. This also happens to icons on desktop.
Can't reproduce here. I added an icon by dragging it to panel and another one by dragging it to desktop then one by using the right click "Add to panel" and all I can click all those icons. Trunk kdebase r1205142
same here using packages from kubuntu PPAs
There must be something different from you guys and me then. I have defaults KDE, default plasma theme, no compositing, no lock, ... I don't know what could make this not work. Can someone try with a new $KDEHOME or a new user to check with defaults?
OK it appears that it's a bug in beta 2 which has been fixed on trunk (post beta 2) I'll enquire more and point to the commit when I close. That would explain it!
fixed here: http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdelibs/plasma/applet.cpp?r1=1202445&r2=1203605&view=patch
