Description Olivier Delaune 2010-07-13 08:52:50 UTC
Version: 1.6.2 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

I subscribe to scientific feeds like http://feeds.aps.org/rss/recent/prc.xml and some papers contain LaTeX expression. Problem exists on main view (with article summary) but not in article view (except for window title). I send screenshot to illustrate this point.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1/Subscribe to feed with LaTeX expression.
2/See article with LaTeX expression
3/Observe that some LaTex expression are not correctly displayed

Main view of akregator.

You can see that LaTex expression ^{40} Ar are not interpreted as LaTex language.

Article view of akregator.

You can see that in this view, LaTeX is correctly displayed into text. But not in the window title.

That's because the "^{40}" is normal text in the RDF. There is no special markup used to indicate that it is a LaTeX snippet, so Akregator doesn't know about it. That's how the website exports it to RDF, so we can't do anything about that.
Comment 4 Frank Osterfeld 2011-03-21 22:06:12 UTC
Limitation of the feed, not a bug.
