Using 4.5 beta 2, putting the plasma panel on the left results in the toolbox icon moving to the top right. However, it doesn't sit against the right edge: it actually sits one pixel closer to the centre. This means that throwing the cursor into the top-right corner and clicking will not result in the toolbox opening, even though it LOOKS like it should work.
