Description Salvo "LtWorf" Tomaselli 2010-05-01 10:09:32 UTC
Version: 2.3.0 (using 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32.11-medea

I've played (or tried to play) this stream: http://livemp3.radioradicale.it/live.mp3 that seems to be offline for now. Well after trying to play it, amarok will not play anything else, and will crash when closing.

No such problem here.

Please retest with Amarok 2.3.1 beta 1 and recent versions of Phonon. Is it still a problem then?
Comment 2 Salvo "LtWorf" Tomaselli 2010-05-02 15:12:22 UTC
Tried with 2.3.1~beta1 and phonon: 4.4.0 (which is the latest available on debian).

Correction if the stream doesn't work and i click on some other track, it keeps a LONG TIME, and then it will skip the track that i actually wanted to play, moving to the next one.
I didn't have a next one in the playlist in the previous attempt.
Comment 3 Sven Krohlas 2010-05-02 15:16:48 UTC
Sounds as if Amarok is waiting for the stream connection to time out.
Comment 4 Salvo "LtWorf" Tomaselli 2010-05-02 15:27:46 UTC
Yes but when it times out it skips a "good" track.

This is an old bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=549294
Reporter is right. Try to play a non-existent stream and afterwards amarok won't play anything again and typically will crash on exit.
Comment 6 Myriam Schweingruber 2011-05-07 11:30:34 UTC
Could you please upgrade to a newer Amarok version and test again? Current is Amarok 2.4.0, Amarok 2.4.1 is to be released tomorrow.

Please report back.
Comment 7 Modestas Vainius 2011-05-08 00:06:11 UTC
The issue is still there with xine backend. However, vlc backend handles http://217.10.34.84:8000 much better. IMHO, this bug could be closed /reassigned as it's probably a xine / phonon-backend-xine bug (or problematic amarok interaction with this backend).

Retested with 2.4.1.

Thank you for the feedback.
Comment 9 Myriam Schweingruber 2011-12-01 09:01:59 UTC
We are sorry, but the xine backend is unmaintained: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-announce&m=130744384419151
Please use the phonon-backend-gstreamer or thre phonon-backend-vlc instead.
