Description Dion Moult 2010-02-19 16:10:37 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Summary is self-explanatory. Just click on settings, click "Configure" - a blank window will open with no buttons or whatsoever in it. It can be resized but nothing is in it. All other Kopete windows become unresponsive.

Changing widget style, window border style, turning off compositing doesn't help. This is on a fresh ~/.kde config.

I am also having this problem with Kopete 4.4.5-r2 from Gentoo. But I have seen reports of this issue on Kubuntu Lucid.

Same problem here with KDE SC 4.6.5 on openSUSE 11.4 and Kopete 1.0.80

It happens only when my webcam is plugged in...

hi all,

this is because you dont get connection to the webcam, try this:

mplayer -fps 30 -cache 128 -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:device=/dev/video0 tv://

the solution is to unplug all usb devices like usb mouse etc. and optionally to reboot.

for me, this sequence worked:
1. reboot
2a. mplayer ... (worked)
2b. kopete settings worked
3. plug in all usb devices
4. mplayer ... (worked suprisingly for me)

greets
