Version: (using KDE 4.3.4) Compiler: gcc 4.4.2 OS: Linux Installed from: Archlinux Packages Nepomuk does not index the content files in OpenDocument format. I have thousands of .odt files (and a few .odp and .ods files), but none of them appear in search results when I search for their content. This bug has been there for many months now, more or less in parallel to the bug that .pdf files not being indexed (#203786). I have already reported that .odt files are not indexed in the bug report about .pdf files and decided to file a separate bug report since another user confirmed my observation. While the content of files in OpenDocument formats is not indexed, .doc, .rtf and .txt files are correctly indexed. For confirmations of this bug report, see: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203786#c6 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203786#c7
@Jos/Sebastian: - Isn't this a Strigi/Soprano limitation ? Thanks
@Darion: yes, this is a Strigi issue. But it should be way better with the current svn, ie. the Strigi that will be used in KDE 4.4. Both PDF and ODF indexing should work properly now. @mutlu: Any chance you could test that?
Sebastian, I tested with the latest svn trunk of strigi combined with kdelibs and kdebase of KDE SC beta 2. The happy news is that .odt indexing works now (while .ods and .odp are still not supported; think separate wishes should be opened on BKO, if anyone cares). Thank you very much for this wonderful addition! I am closing this bug report now.
