Version: 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 6" (using 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 6", openSUSE 11.2) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop Using Konqueror v 4.3.1 "release 6" Using KDE 4.3.1 "release 6" Using OpenSuse 11.2, Kernel 2.6.31.5-0.1 Using konqueror and clicking on a folder opens the folder in a new window everytime. Going to Settings-->Configure Konqueror-->File Management The MISC Options "Open folder in separate windows" is not checked/selected. Therfore when clicking/selecting a folder within Konqueror, it always opens the folder in a new window. And Setting the option to open folders in a separate window still has Konqueror open the folder in a new window which it selected to do. Workaround: Only way to get folder to open without it opening a new window is to Right Click on the folder and select "open in new tab"
Bug confirmed in konqueror 4.3.77 (KDE 4.4 >= 20091123)
Possibly related - With the "open folders in separate windows" box checked (settings->file management within konqueror) folders still open in current window. Even after "settings->save view profile as". Dolphin doesn't seem to even have the option. This is not a feature i ever use, (hate it) but my mom seems to insist on it, she's making do with right click->open in new window for now.
I observed this problem in Konqueror 4.10.5, "release 1" in the Lightweight X Windows System, Version 11 (X11) Desktop Environment (LXDE) in the openSUSE-12.3, Linux operating system.
