Description Nicolas L. 2009-11-24 11:06:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

Bug reported by a mandriva 2O1O.0 user with KDE 4.3.2

The akonadi migration script is probably launched twice
because there's a duplication of the akonadi ressources
With akonadiconsole i can notice
akonadi_ical_resource_0 and akonadi_ical_resource_1 pointing to the same .ics
file aka /home/mikala/.kde4/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics
akonadi_vcard_resource_0 & akonadi_vcard_resource_1 pointing to the same .vcf
file aka /home/mikala/.kde4/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf

Comment 1 Volker Krause 2009-11-24 11:51:49 UTC
IRC discussion log about that, containing the hint on how to possibly fix it:

[10:18] <neoclust_laptop> you have ever saw that ?

[10:19] <krake> not exactly like that
[10:20] <krake> I got a similar situation when the kresource migration failed, but different in the sense that the one from the first attempt were shown as "broken"
[10:20] <volker|office> me neither, could be a race in the firstrun setup code, or the migrator
[10:21] <krake> right
[10:21] <volker|office> IIRC the migrator at least has code to protect against that, using dbus
[10:21] <krake> maybe both happening at the same time or two kresource apps running the migrator simultaniously
[10:21] <krake> ah
[10:22] <volker|office> firstrun should probably have the same
[10:24] <neoclust_laptop> volker|office: you need a bugreport ?
[10:30] <volker|office> yes, please, looks like firstrun indeed misses the dbus lock

Hej Nicolas,

can you still reproduce this bug with a current version of KDE (e.g. 4.4.5)?

Ciao,
Tobias

Same problem with kde 4.5 and kde 4.4
I use a clean install of kubuntu 10.10 beta kde 4.5. I get duplicates "Personal contacts" in my kaddressbook, and in akonadi the resources is repeat 3 times:
akonadi_contacts_resource_0
akonadi_contacts_resource_1
akonadi_contacts_resource_2

If I install in spanish, I get 3 resources "personal contacts" and 2 of "Contactos personal" (spanish name).

Is this normal?
