Description Dotan Cohen 2009-08-24 08:59:53 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

Please add a Print System Browser, Bluetooth Browser, and Audio CD Browser to Konqueror. Konqueror had these features in KDE 3 and they are sorely missed in KDE 4.3. Thanks.

What about e.g. the audiocd kio?
Comment 2 Dario Andres 2009-08-26 03:30:39 UTC
@Dotan:
- Audio CD browser exists as the audiocd:/ kioslave. Check it (when you insert a CD, it should reappear in the Places panel in Dolphin, and when you click on it, it should show audiocd:/ )
Regarding the other two browsers, both requests should be filed separated as they are unrelated. They are no implemented by Konqueror, but by his own kioslaves.
- Report the Print browser to kdelibs, and the Bluetooth browser to kde-bluetooth.

I'm closing this report as it is mixing different issues, and you already know the politic here: "one report per issue".

A little offtopic comment: this is sad, but KDE is lacking a bit of manpower, so new features (or even old-time ones) are unlikely to be implemented in the near future until we get more developers to deal with them (at least in some products/applications). We are not going to close this future request as INVALID (as they are not invalid); but we can't give them attention all the attention we would like to. There are more bugs and critical things to spend the reduced time of the reduced ammount of devs right now. Anyways, I'm going to work to get more people to contribute. I hope you can understand the situation and that you can understand me. Regards and thanks for your interest :)

I suspect that if you find the kdebluetooth maintainer (see source code), they can give you suggestions of ways you can help them. If nothing else, you can join Bugsquad. ;)

Honest, there is no secret KDE Kabal that is ignoring users by not implementing everything.
