Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I just tried to delete file from trash, and trash reports that the file does not exist (even though trash clearly lists it). I shall add a screenshot to show the problem. (I tried to file this bug where it seems (to me) to belong: the trash kio slave, but I received a bizarre message saying that I could no longer file bugs against kicker. Something in the bug tracking system seems to equate the trash kio slave with kicker.)
Created attachment 32670 [details] screenshot showing trash refusing to delete a file for reasons that don't make sense
Has this happen before? Can you try to see if the file is in the trash folder?
I guess you have a ~/.local/share/Trash/info/jewell-hill-and-bennet.pdf.trashinfo but no ~/.local/share/Trash/files/jewell-hill-and-bennet.pdf anymore? This isn't supposed to happen, but I guess it's hard to find how it happened now... Do you remember something fishy like trying to delete that file from two file managers almost-concurrently or something like that? Or a partition full case?
I have since upgraded to 4.2.2 (Kubuntu 9.04), and the Kubuntu upgrade procedure unfortunately cleaned out my trash so I can't provide any more information and I'll have to wait and see if this happens again. It did happen several times with 4.2.0, and there was no obvious reason for it when it did happen.
Can somebody still reproduce this bug? Otherwise this can be closed.
Works for me in KDE Frameworks 5.45.
