this behavior occurs when battery is low enough that a notification pops up about battery being low. The system locks up at this point - music goes on playing, but I am unable to click anything.
After about 20 seconds, the system is responsive again. This happens again when I connect the power supply.
I must mention that I had chosen the powersave optionn on guidance power manager.
I installed KDE 4.2 on top of Ubuntu.

Is this still happening with KDE SC 4.6.1?
Comment 2 Christoph Feck 2011-09-24 21:19:36 UTC
The "guidance-power-manager" is unmaintained and has been replaced with "Powerdevil". If this issue needs to be addressed in recent KDE versions, such as 4.6.5 or 4.7.x, please add a comment, or report it to "solid/powermanagement" bugzilla product.
