Description Salvo "LtWorf" Tomaselli 2009-01-08 09:19:28 UTC
Version:           KWin: 4.1.86 (KDE 4.1.86 (KDE 4.2 >= 20081221)) (using Devel)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Compiled sources

When i try to use xrenderer instead of opengl to enable the effects, i got an error that says that it is not enabled in my xorg.conf.
But... i was using xrenderer with kde 4.1 and my xorg.conf didn't change.

Try using the checkbox to "Disable functionality checks" in the Advanced tab.

I tried to do as you say, and it says: "Failed to activate desktop effects using the given configuration options. Settings will be reverted to their previous values.

Check your X configuration. You may also consider changing advanced options, especially changing the compositing type"

I've tried to disable all the effects, but still keep active the opengl thing, then i disabled functionality check, switched to xrender and worked, and then i enabled again all the effects and they're working like the previous version of kde...

Is this still an issue with KDE 4.2.x?
