Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Although I don't have any IPv6 connectivity, akregator insists on using IPv6 for fetching news feeds. Unlike other KDE applications, it doesn't stop after a failed AAAA-Query, but keeps sending them over and over. After some time it then states that fetching the feed failed. Only once in a while it does issue an A Query and fetches the feed correctly. I already tried KDE_NO_IPV6=true and KDE_NO_IPV6=1 but it didn't help. (could anybody tell me if that's still supposed to work in KDE-4.1?)
Weird. We use KIO for networking, no akregator-specific stuff there. Do other applications (konqueror, especially) work as expected? Please let us know if subsequent upgrades to 4.1.x or 4.2 change anything.
So, is this still an issue ? with IPV6 enabled, I don't have such problems.
nope, meanwhile i updated to kde-4.3 and the problem is gone
