Version: 1.0.2 (using 4.0.2 (KDE 4.0.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic When I have edited the location box to my liking, and pressed return to go to the place, I press esc or Ctrl+L to get out of the location box. Now I would like the keyboard to focus on the file list so I can continue browsing with the keyboard. The way it works now I have to press tab two times to focus on the file list. I think Dolphin for KDE3 worked the way I wanted.
I agree with this behaviour. This should be done even switching off from the terminal panel and after closing the filter bar (CTRL+I).
Not sure when this was implemented, but it works now, a return key on the location bar navigates to that url, and selects the view. Closing. @Finex, the filter bar also has the behavior.
@Shaun: thanks for testing it! It works for me too :-)
Reopening since this is broken again. It applies to the location box and terminal, but the CTRL-I filter box works as it should. When pressing ESC or CTRL-L to get out of the location box, the bread-crumb menu is focused instead of the file list.
Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
[Part of the Dolphin Bug Weeks 2012] The issue persists in Dolphin 2.1/KDE SC 4.9.2 (Kubuntu package). It should be noted that, after typing in the location bar, you can move around the file list as expected if you don't close the bar. This can serve as somewhat of a workaround until the bug is actually fixed
Strange - for me, the view actually does get focused when closing the location bar with Esc or Ctrl+L, but not when pressing "Enter" without editing the location. Neither when closing the Terminal.
This works for me as of Dolphin 16.12.3 and 17.08.0. Hitting the return key after typing a location returns focus to the file list.
