Description Marco Mangiante 2008-03-06 17:19:31 UTC
Version: 1.0.3 (using KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I tried to burn an iso image from an smb folder but received the error Could not find image.

These are the steps:

1. Configured an smb folder (I use it to copy files from my windows laptop shareddocs directory to linux).
2. Right click on the iso file in the folder and then choose "Open with k3b".
3. k3b started and give me the dialog to burn the iso image, where there is the path of image to burn under the label "Image to Burn", but under this there is the message "No image file selected"
4. Click on the "Start" button prompt the dialog with the message "The image you selected is not a valid ISO9660 image. Are you sure you want to burn it anyway? (There may exist other valid image types that are not detected by k3b but will work fine.).
5. Choose "Continue" prompt the burning dialog where there is the error "Could not find image /image/to/burn.iso" where /image/to/burn is the path of the image.
6. If you copy the same iso image on the local hard drive, there are no problems to burn and the part where you encountered "No image file selected", is filled with iso image properties.

I've also done snapshots.

K3b does not support KIO yet, i.e. smb:// urls do not work, only local files.
Hopefully I find time to improve this for K3b 2.

In an attempt to clean up old bugs that are not valid for K3b 2.0 (=KDE SC 4.x port) anymore, this is now being marked as UNMAINTAINED.
If this bug is still valid for 2.0, please reopen it.
