Description illogic-al 2008-02-05 19:49:29 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5465)
OS: OS X

The mouseover effect in use in dolphin and all kde file dialog widgets (presumably belonging to kfile) does not look/behave properly on os x. If the mouse is moved too quickly over a directory, a dark blue, rectangular shape fades in and out. The dark blue rectangle is actually an overlay to the nice rounded, light blue rectangular selection we see in linux.
I have no idea what's going on, but I'm willing to work with whoever necessary to debug and fix this.

I've also changed the priority to hi, because this needs to be fixed for the 4.1 release for KDE on Mac to look professional. An image is attached below.

If i'm not supposed to change the priority, let me know (and change it back to
an appropriate level of course).

Possible fix

I don't have a mac so I can't test it, but after staring at
qpaintengine_mac.cpp for a while, I think this patch might fix the problem.

brilliant. that fixes the issue here, both in dolphin and in Amarok's File Browser.
I can't check it on linux (atm) but if it doesn't break anything there, can you check it in?

This happens for me using the File System Browser of Kate. Using KDE 4.5.2 compiled from macports.
Comment 10 Nate Graham 2018-04-13 20:15:36 UTC
Is this still an issue with KDE Frameworks 5.44 or greater?
