Description Olivier Vitrat 2007-11-02 19:59:59 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Reported in Debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=435270

Hi,
ksnapshot would be even better if the user could configure keyboard
shortcuts for different actions.

For example, I'd like to be able to configure the shortcut
<Ctrl>+<Shift>+<Print> to make a screenshot with Capture mode = Region
and "copy to clipboard". Upon pressing the shortcut, ksnapshot should just
enter the appropriate mode, so that I can just choose the region I want to
capture, and the outcome would be automatically copied to the Clipboard so
I can paste it into another app. ksnapshot should remain silent in the
background the whole time.

I recently wrote a howto which required a lot of small screenshots - the
above feature would have saved me a great deal of time :) Thanks for
consideration!

In KDE 4.0 this can be done by assigning key strokes to the new kbackgroundsnapshot tool (part of ksnapshot).
