Description Mikolaj Machowski 2007-01-04 18:22:26 UTC
Version:            (using KDE Devel)
Installed from:    Compiled sources

svn branch 3.5 v. 619638 of kdelibs/khtml directory

When clicking on link Konq goes to the top of current page and only later to target page.

This is bad because:

- user can mistake current page with new one and begin interaction
- user can think link is bad (especially on slower corrections)
- unpleasant blinking of page when scrolling less than one page

I can confirm this bug on svn r622941 KDE 3.5.5 was fine. KDE 3.5.6 is so close. Don't release with this regression.

I can confirm this bug in KDE 3.5.6 (from kubuntu packages). I'll link to two videos showing the problem on two different pages (hw.no and digg.com).

* http://folk.ntnu.no/~romnes/hwno.kde.3.5.6.ogg (4.3M)
* http://folk.ntnu.no/~romnes/diggcom.kde.3.5.6.ogg (2.9M)

Now you mention it, yes I seem to have same behaviour. :O Wonder why I didn't notice it before. I think this is only minor annoyance so I lower severity.

I was just about to file a bug on 3.5.6 release (build yesterday/today). Yes, I can confirm this behaviour - very annoying once to see it...

#140768 has already analysis which causes this regression.
