Description dan hetherington 2006-10-13 21:39:38 UTC
Version: 1.6.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
Compiler: I didn't compile this.
OS: Linux

I use several different schemas for different types of login. They are all user-created. Using one of the schemas, when I change to a different tab and then return, the background has changed from the tinted-transparency I have set in the schema to a plain blue background. This happens every time I change tabs and then return, but not if I change to another application or virtual desktop and then return. All other schemas work properly. The problem schema worked normally with the previous version of konsole that I had (the one included in Slackware 10.2, which uses KDE 3.4.2). If I reselect the same schema via the menu, it properly resets the background.

Sorry, I was slightly mistaken. ALL different schemas lose their transparency when I navigate to another tab and back, but each schema changes to a different colour. Also, the transparency returns if I resize the window using the mouse.

I have figured out that this has something to do with having a background image defined. All of my schemas have an image defined, although it is not in use. If I go through and delete these image lines from the .schema files then the problem goes away.

KDE3 is not supported anymore. Reopen if you can reproduce using the latest KDE4.
