Description Andras Georgy Bekes 2006-09-26 12:38:04 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Importing images from a directory should import video and audio files as well, not just images.

If you import all the files from your camera, you want to import all the stuff you've recorded, including video and audio files.

Currently, if you import all the files from your camera, you get only the pictures, and you usually lose all the video and audio stuff when you clear your card. Very annoying.

When I "select all" and download or select some files (among them audio/video) and command to download them they are downloaded. More specific description please.

Man, this bug was filed more than a year ago :-)

But I've tested, it still behaves the same.

To reproduce:
1, Select an album
2, press the "Add images" button
3, select a directory with image and video/audio files as well
4, press Ctrl-A to select all files
5, press OK to import the files

Problem: audio and video files are not imported, because they are not selected, because they are not shown in the "Select Image to Add" dialog window. There is a "Filter" option at the bottom at this window, but there are only picture-types and an "All pictures" option. When selecting this option (default) only picture files are shown, no video or audio files.

There should be an "All pictures+video+audio files" option and that should be the default.

I've tested it on digiKam 0.9.2-final.

Andras,

This file still valid using digiKam 0.9.4 or 0.10.0 ?

Since we use FFMPEG as metadata backend for Video and Audio files, instead Exiv2, this problem will be fixed properly in next 6.0.0 release.
