Description lexual 2006-05-11 02:24:29 UTC
Version: 3.5.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages
OS:                Linux

From: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/akregator/+bug/1741

I agree with the initial reporter that it is unclear what the "interval fetching" option actually does.

<quote>
Instead of using a checkbox to select 'interval fetching', Akregator should use radio buttons with either 'interval fetching' or whatever the alternative is. Presumably the alternatives are 1) to check a feed as often as the feed itself specifies, or 2) for the user to check it manually. The alternatives need to be made clear, or else the user will be confused about what choice he or she is making.
If Akregator doesn't end up using a radio button, the alternative is to use a tooltip when the mouse hovers over 'interval fetching,' explaining what the alternative is.
<endquote>

The alternative is to use the global setting specified in the configuration dialog (that why the option text is "use _custom_ update interval").
But I agree, this should be made more clear.

Tested using r887704 compiled with gcc version 4.3.2 (Gentoo 4.3.2 p1.1). This is still there.
