Description Mathirajan S. Manoharan 2006-04-10 21:28:11 UTC
Version: 0.8 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

Kaffeine doesn't play mpeg/mms/rtsp streams from a password protected streaming servers. For eg mms://66.90.127.16/ktv

The error msg kaffeine displays is

12:26:51 PM: xine: cannot find input plugin for MRL [mms://66.90.127.16/suntv]
12:26:51 PM: xine: input plugin cannot open MRL [mms://66.90.127.16/suntv]
12:26:48 PM: xine: found input plugin : mms streaming input plugin

On windows, the windows media player puts up a username/password dialog box and once I enter the username/password, I'm able to watch the stream

This bug is too old, for a version < 1.3. Closing it, as the latest version is 2.0.1, and lots of things changed since version 1.2.x, including the usage of VLC as video display backend, support for DVB-T2 and ISDB-T via libVLC, etc.

You may check on the upstream version and see if the bug was solved. The README file contains instructions about how to compile it. You can find it at our git repository:

https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kaffeine.git

If you find similar issues with version 2.0.1, please re-open.
