Description Juha Tuomala 2006-02-26 15:37:24 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I create event. Select it and choose 'Copy', then click the same day and choose 'Paste', the event is thrown into another day.

It's unclear how far (past|future) the another day is, the offset and direction changed when I changed testing month. Weird.

I've file and Kmail IMAP resources activated. I noticed this when I tried to use copy+paste to change the storage resource for my entries.

I can confirm this. I made event on may 3rd 2006. Open monthly view. Try to move to another day fails - no move possible.
Copy event from may 3rd, move mouse pointer to may 31th, press 1st mouse button to select this day, and paste - the event is paste to may 29th.

KDE 3.5.2-0.2.FC5 from FC5 korganizer 3.5.

Can confirm in KDE 3.5 built from sources.

This BUG is still there. Do you will fix this in the next days?

Confirmed.
Additionally, the RMB menu needs to be modified to show Paste.

Why is the Paste selection only on the main Edit menu?

A while ago it was in the RMB menu. For some reason it was removed (I think it
was due to the argument that paste is not used so often, or something like
that).

Cheers,
Reinhold

In konqueror case, it could have *more* functionality and thus menu entries, not vice versa. I guess that 'our users are stupid' belongs to the other camp than KDE :)
Comment 9 Allen Winter 2006-10-19 17:48:25 UTC
Juha,

I guess this is your way of saying we should back the "Paste" menu item??

What do you say Reinhold?
Comment 10 Thomas Steudten 2006-10-19 18:24:18 UTC
I just wonder, why korganizer is so buggy for this long time. Is there nobody working on this?
I also miss a general toggle button for "sound reminder", so that every event has this reminder by sound and a feature to remove custom events, like holidays. You can add custom events, but never remove it. I would like to show holidays for more than one country, like in switzerland AND germany or austria.

So what about the bug for the cut & paste? Korganizer 3.5.3 has this bug.

On the other hand, good work guys.

Yes, except that I typoted 'konqueror' when I meant 'korganizer'. Too much k stuff in my head. :)

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

This bug is still present in 3.5.7 on fedora core 6.
Comment 14 Juha Tuomala 2007-11-18 17:47:06 UTC
There has been changes on this issue. Now when i {cut, copy}+paste event, it re-appears in same day where where i 'took' it. So that's now fixed, good.

...but...there is always a but. Once I've taken copy to clipboard and click
another day to make day 'selected', try to paste the event there, it comes back to day where i originally took it.

I've feeling that it's not supposed to work like this either.

Korganizer 3.5.6 (enterprise 0.20071012.724442) (Using KDE 3.5.8-7.fc8 Fedora)

I agree that the "paste" command should be present in the context menu. Alternatively, remove the "copy" and "cut" menu items. But having "copy" and "cut" without "paste" is inconsistent and confusing to the end user.
Comment 16 Dotan Cohen 2008-10-09 00:56:23 UTC
For everyone asking about "paste" in the context menu, please vote for bug #123349.
Comment 17 Dotan Cohen 2008-10-09 01:04:56 UTC
This bug may be related to bug #162007.

Additionally, this bug now depends upon bug #172425 as there is currently no way to paste an event now.

Bug fixed.
