well, i think it would be interesting to can define text filters (in a similar way as it works with mail filters) in order to prevent several news to be showed.

you should define a set of filters and then apply them (maybe no one, maybe a few) to each source, so news that match any (or all) the selected filters for the source will be directly removed.

In addition, I wish for the ability to receive notification such as running program, displaying an message box, and playing sound when an article meets a filter condition, like KMail's Filter Actions.

+1 (actually +20 :) ) for the possibility to add filters and be notified (by e.g. knotify) when an article meets one or more filters (it would be useful to watching critical feeds like servers uptime by rss and stuff like that, without checking all the feeds every X minutes)
Comment 4 Mamonetti 2009-04-21 00:30:25 UTC
Instead of keeping just the "match any criteria" and "match all criteria" options for triggering the action(s) i should add a third one, "match no criteria". In terms of ip routing we may consider it a default gateway, and in terms of iptables this should replace the table default policy. I think this may help in some situations.

Regards

Should support regular expressions.

Thank you for the bug report.

+1 and yes, I would say the issue persists. Akregator's "quick filter" only seems to filter articles titles. It would be great if we could also search and by content or URL; and if we could create filters to move some titles to subfolders.

Bugs 283779, 116873 and 432935 are similar.
