Version: svn snapshot from 3.5 branch (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc 4.0.2 with gentoo patches OS: Linux When I use kpdf (or xpdf) to open this file: http://arxiv.org/pdf/gr-qc/0511089, it will give a lot of "Error: Bad bounding box in Type 3 glyph", and take a relatively long time to render the page, and the result is not very good. ghostview gives the best display. BTW, I notice that this kind of files are usually generated from ps files, don't know if it is relevant.
This seems to work fine here with KDE 3.5.2
This particular file looks fine, but I see same problem on http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/docs/papers/2006/n1940.pdf
Using 'Print to file (PDF)' from kdiff3 and then reviewing the ~/print.pdf file produces a whole bunch of: Error: Bad bounding box in Type 3 glyph Error: Bad bounding box in Type 3 glyph ... > dpkg -l | grep -i kubuntu ii kubuntu-desktop 1.22 Kubuntu desktop system 0:> kpdf --version Qt: 3.3.6 KDE: 3.5.5 KPDF: 0.5.5 0:> kdiff3 --version Qt: 3.3.6 KDE: 3.5.5 KDiff3: 0.9.90
KPDF is no longer maintained. If you think this is still a problem in Okular (KDE 4 successor of KPDF), please open a bug against poppler (the library Okular uses to render PDF) in bugs.freedesktop.org Thanks for using KDE
