Description Hertz 2005-07-23 07:13:45 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.3.2, (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Debian 1:3.3.6-5)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-2-686

IMO there should be a global option for all KDE application which should remember the last save path for the current application.
For example if I've created some image with Kolourpaint and saved this image file to $HOME/mypictures, then for the next time Kolourpaint should automatically save (offer to save) the files in that folder and not offer everytime to save the files in home folder (or $HOME/documents). The same settings should be for other KDE applications too.

I thought that was how things work already...

No doubt, but the question is: where? Which version? For me non of the
applications could remember the last save path. They always open the document
folder choosed in kcontrol.

Moving from "kio/kfile" component to "kfile" product, helps sorting out duplicates.

Indeed, that's the way it works. If there's any KDE app that doesn't work this way, a bug needs to be filed on that app itself.
