Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Unspecified Linux OS: Linux This option -- using the middle mouse button to close the tab -- doesn't seem to work. The error message is varied; sometimes it brings up an error message with what's in the konsole, and sometimes it brings up the current conversation in konversation. A member on the IRC notes that it's causing Konqi to muck around with the RAM, and it shouldn't be. Thanks.
MMB is Paste, so you're getting whatever is in your clipboard. And, no, this wish won't be implemented because MMB is already assigned to pasting text and new URLs.
Actually it's already implemented, and it seems like the bug report is that it isn't working. Marking as closed because I can't confirm the bug.
This wasn't a request (hence me reporting it as a bug :)); it's mentioned that this is a new feature added in 3.4, and I wanted to check that it worked before adding to the konqueror handbook. Though, the bug is there; I've tried it on the three computers in our house (two different distros, though they produce a slightly different affect); also a few others in #kde clarified that they experienced the same problem.
I closed your bug because I didn't know it was implemented. Konqueror has never closed a tab for me with MMB. Where do the docs say this feature was implemented?
Reopening, reporter sees the problem on three computers. Stephan Binner implemented it in response to (and a few duplicates): http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82957 (Scroll down to the end)
The docs don't say the feature was implemented; I was thinking of implementing it. However, it is mentioned here: http://developer.kde.org/development-versions/kde-3.4-features.html
Ah, there it is. A non-GUI option. Turning it on fixes this for you?
With the option turned on, it works, yes.

Thank you for this feature, it's appreciated! Is there a gui setting for it, would be nice to be able to enable this feature via a gui option.
