I can reproduce this on Debian with these packages: ~$ dpkg-query -W kmail kdepim kdelibs kmail 4:3.5.6.dfsg.1-1 kdepim 4:3.5.6.dfsg.1-1 kdelibs 4:3.5.6.r1.dfsg.1-2 My address book is located on an NFS share. It is exactly as described above, KMail apparently writes back the address book every time it exits. I cannot reproduce it with the default address book file. The Debian bug report: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=416366 Could be related to http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137515 kevin: well... Marcus says that tihs is specific to nfs. (and I think I have seen marcus talking about very slow nfs on different maillists) - where the submitter of 137515 has clearly stated that he is not using home-on-nfs. /Sune I'm not using home on NFS, I'm using only an address book resource stored on NFS, as well as the default resource on the local file system. And it's not _that_ slow, although it occasionally has hangups. That's not a reason to get files overwritten though. I use kmail, korganizer and the korgac alarm daemon, and kopete standalone. No longer valid with Akonadi (and cannot be reproduced) |
