kate and kdevelop seem to have no way to use childframe anymore. Quanta still does, and it is broken. The viewbar is there, though I can't tell if it remains present after restarting since quanta crashes when I try to reopen it after selecting childframe mode. It doesn't work before then anyway, since any "child frame" appears as its own full fledged window with a windeco and appearance in the kicker taskbar. Can I assume childframe mode has been completely deprecated? Is it a Quanta bug that it still allows this mode to be selected? It would be a shame if it was dropped instead of fixed. Classic MDI isn't entirely popular it seems, but I much prefer it to "tabs". Still, it should either be fixed, or made apparent that it is no longer to be used and or removed entirely. Should someone tell Quanta? kmdi has been removed in KDE 4 and no more fixes will be made for KDE 3.5.x. The apps that were using kmdi in the KDE SVN repository have moved to their own multi-document implementations Git commit c11292b9887df3d9913f7671229e49f0ef70b6c7 by Jasem Mutlaq.
