Version:           0.6.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS:                Linux

Trying to use a Ricoh Calipo G4 camera.
Get a pop up box with error message,
"Failed to initialize camera
Please ensure camera is connected properly and turned on."


When run from console,
andrew@4[~]$ digikam
WARNING: deleting stale lockfile /home/andrew/.kde/share/config/digikamrc.lock
Failed to initialize camera.
Please ensure camera is connected properly and turned on

we don't support the 0.6.x series anymore. 0.7.1 is latest stable release and 0.7.2 will be released shortly. test with 0.7.1 and let us know what you get. Also make sure that your permissions are set correctly:
