Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Hi guys,

Konqueror is able to browse my shared folder of a network netbios server using smb://ipaddress/path but when I try to browse only using smb://ipaddress it takes a lot of time and does not find anything. I think it gets infinite loop.
When I try to browse the host typing smb:/ it can not find any host with shared folders BUT I try smb://address/path and it worked fine.
I recommend you to let in cache if the user already browsed some ipaddress/host it will be avaiable in smb:/ for a while.
I think smb:/ is only able to find hosts by name but I did not coded this module and I do not have freetime to look at the source code .

THanks a lot guys,

KDE 3 is no longer maintained. Feel free to reopen the ticket if the problem is still applicable in the current stable KDE 4 version. Thank you for your report.
