Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.91) Installed from: Compiled From Sources OS: Linux It will be more logical if a test is done before that a user attempts to modify a file name in Konqueror. For example, if someone tries to rename a file from the kio protocol "settings:/" or another one ("fonts:/", "tar:/", "bzip2:/"...), it IS normal for him that it's impossible to rename something, so I think that a test has to be done before he tries to rename it, to disable renaming operations. For the moment, there is only a dialog box which inform us that the protocol does not manage this kind of operation, so why not totally disabling renaming (and sometimes deleting) for some protocols.
