Is you libgphoto2 compiled with libexif support. If yes, are you able to access the exif information using commandline gphoto2 or gtkam yes, it's compiled with exif support, but it just doesn't work in camera gui (prewiew). Because there is this option in the menu I expect it to work. If not, please delete this menu entry. Therefore I filed this bug. are you able to access the exif information using gtkam and/or commandline gphoto2 (for eg, using gphoto2 --show-exif 1 --camera "Canon Digital IXUS 40 (PTP mode)" ) OK, neither gphoto gets me info, so its not digikams fault. either its the ixus or gphotos fault. ouput below: ~ $ gphoto2 --show-exif 1 --camera "Canon Digital IXUS 40 (PTP mode)" Downloading 'IMG_0076.JPG' from folder '/store_00010001/DCIM/100CANON'...
