As discussed on KDE-PIM 2005/1 with Reinhold and Cornelius, 
GroupDAV represents non-calculated, connected events using the 'related-to' iCalendar field if the server does not support a given iCalendar rrule in storage.

When deleting an event connected to others, KOrganizer needs to ask whether the users intends to delete the whole recurrence or just the specific item. 

If the user selects to delete the whole recurrence, the client needs to perform one HTTP DELETE call per event.

Dear reporter, the resources handling got redone for KF5 and KF6 based PIM applications.

If you still encounter the issues you had in the past, please report them to the current maintained and updated PIM applications you use
